Aromatherapy Massage uses the therapeutic power of pure essential oils, applied during a massage treatment after being blended in a light carrier oil or lotion.
The highly concentrated extracts of plants, called essential oils, stimulate the limbic system of the brain, which is attached the olfactory system (sense of smell). The limbic system controls emotions and influences the nervous system and hormones. They can positively affect heart rate, stress level, blood pressure, breathing, memory, digestion, and the immune system.
What to expect:
A typical treatment is between 60 and 90 minutes.
It will begin with a brief consultation and review of symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle and further questions to determine your unique physical, emotional and psychological needs
You will be asked to undress (most people keep their underwear on) while the massage therapist is out of the room, and lie down under a sheet on a padded massage table.
The Aromatherapist will custom blend the oils for the desired outcome.
Aromatherapy massage is generally quite gentle.
